Thursday, May 30, 2024 HSR Hong Kong introduces a new route to Hunan, adding 6 destinations including Zhangjiajie, enhancing services with more short-haul trips. The High Speed Rail (HSR) network in Hong Kong is set to broaden its reach and enhance its offerings. From June 15, a new extended route to Hunan Province will be launched, introducing six fresh destinations including the famed tourist spots Zhangjiajie and Fenghuanggucheng.

This addition elevates the total number of direct HSR destinations to 78. In parallel, services such as the connections from Hong Kong West Kowloon Station to Guangzhoudong, Shenzhenbei, and Futian will see an increase, with daily train pairs rising to at least 100 to support commuting, tourism, and business engagements. The inaugural route to Zhangjiajiexi will feature stops at six new stations: Shaoyang, Huaihuanan, Dongkou, Fenghuanggucheng, Jishoudong, and Zhangjiajiexi, each served by a pair of southbound and northbound trains daily.



Notable among these are Fenghuanggucheng, an ancient town, the UNESCO-listed Wulingyuan scenic area in Zhangjiajie, and Shaoyang’s Langshan scenic spot. This route aims to boost exchange and promote tourism and business interactions. Ticket pre-sales will commence this coming Saturday, June 1.
