It's the age-old travel question : when is the best time to book? Sure, last-minute sales and deals sometimes pop up, but lots of people swear by booking well in advance to lock in a good fare. Unfortunately, there isn't really a correct answer, as it depends on your destination . This is why Skyscanner has introduced a new tool to help you identify the cheapest time for you to book.

Most of the people surveyed said they were still on the hunt for a good deal. Skyscanner's savings generator allows travellers to enter their destination and find the cheapest time to book – and also the cheapest month in which to travel.



According to the tool, across all destinations, the week commencing 22nd July is, on average, the cheapest week to fly this winter. When we used the tool to determine the cheapest time to book flights to Tokyo from Sydney, it determined that prices tend to plummet five weeks out.
