Friday, June 21, 2024 In a proactive effort to enhance visitor confidence and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience in Pattaya, the Chief of Pattaya Tourist Police, Pol. Lt. Gen.

Saksira Phueakam, recently convened a meeting with key business owners and stakeholders in the tourism industry. Held on Pattaya’s iconic Walking Street, the meeting underscored the Thai government’s commitment to improving tourism safety and quality in the final quarter of 2024. This initiative in tourism industry aligns with the Prime Minister’s strategy to bolster tourism and the Minister of Tourism and Sports’ guidelines to enhance the overall tourist experience in Thailand.

Saksira Phueakam emphasised the importance of maintaining high standards in tourism services. He urged business owners to avoid employing unlicensed guides, refrain from offering substandard tours, and desist from using unfair selling practices. This call to action aims to protect tourists from potential scams and ensure that their travel, tourism, and tour experiences in Pattaya are of the highest quality.

During the meeting, Saksira highlighted the promising outlook for increased tourism in Pattaya as 2024 comes to a close. To support this growth, he announced improvements to the tourist police’s emergency reporting service. The 1155 hotline, already operational 24/7 and available in five languages, will soon expand to include three additional langu.
