Tuesday, May 28, 2024 At the 2024 MICHELIN Guide Nordic Countries Ceremony in Helsinki, Finnish restaurants celebrated two new stars, bringing the nation’s total star count to nine, with six located in the capital. The ceremony also honored one Helsinki restaurant with a Green Star and two others with the Bib Gourmand award. A noteworthy change this year was the absence of red meat at the event, aligning with Helsinki’s catering policy.

This year’s ceremony in Helsinki brought together top chefs from across the Nordic region, showcasing not just the coveted MICHELIN Stars but also highlighting sustainability with the MICHELIN Green Stars. The event also recognized exceptional industry professionals through Special Awards. Among the stars awarded, The ROOM by Kozeen Shiwan in Helsinki received its first star within just five months of opening, praised for its unique and theatrical dining experience.



In Ruka, Tapio earned its first star for its focus on natural flavors and top-notch ingredients, adding to Finland’s star-studded culinary landscape. Nokka restaurant was honored with the Green Star, emphasizing Helsinki’s commitment to sustainable dining. The guide commended Nokka for its efforts in showcasing local, seasonal produce.

Overall, the MICHELIN Guide Nordic Countries 2024 features 85 star restaurants and 36 Green Star establishments. Finland’s culinary scene boasts nine star restaurants, with a majority situated in Helsinki. Additionally, two new Helsinki e.
