Friday, May 31, 2024 Hamad International Airport (DOH) celebrates a decade of connecting passengers to new experiences and memories via Doha. Over the past ten years, the airport has triumphed as the ‘World’s Best Airport’ three times at the SKYTRAX World Airport Awards and was ranked second-best in air connectivity in the Middle East by Airport Council International in 2023. These accolades highlight the airport’s dedication to innovation, customer-centric approach, and operational excellence, ensuring a seamless travel experience.

From May 2014 to May 2024, Hamad International Airport welcomed 325.1 million passengers, facilitated 2.1 million aircraft movements, carried 20.



5 million tonnes of cargo, and processed 258 million bags. Serving as Qatar Airways’ hub, the airport hosts over 45 airline partners and has expanded its capacity to 58 million passengers annually, covering over 200 destinations. Hamad International Airport is home to over 40 permanent art displays and offers more than 200 retail and dining outlets, featuring world-firsts and exclusives.

The airport’s expansion in 2022, which added 125,000m2 to the terminal, introduced an indoor tropical garden, new transfer facilities, and the Al Mourjan Garden Lounge, which houses the only Louis Vuitton Lounge at an airport. Qatar Airways Group CEO, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, praised the airport’s growth, emphasizing investments in people, facilities, and innovative solutions as key to achieving excellen.
