Thursday, July 4, 2024 Four Seasons Resort Whistler introduces rooftop honeybee colonies, offering guests immersive beekeeping experiences and showcasing organic honey in their culinary delights. Buzzing with life, the rooftops of Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler have welcomed an extraordinary influx of nearly a million new residents. Nestled amidst Whistler’s stunning mountains and lush forests, these rooftop hives provide a picturesque and dynamic home for the honeybees.
As summer unfolds, it brings a wave of renewal, fresh ideas, and a perfect moment to honor our planet. The alarming decline in honeybee populations over recent years has raised significant environmental concerns, emphasizing the crucial role these pollinators play. In response, the mountainside resort is taking proactive steps to support bee conservation and promote sustainable living.
They have established sixteen new hives on their rooftops, each buzzing with activity. Leading this initiative, Sabrina Offers, Director of Residences, remarks,“This initiative is one of various measures we’re taking on property to ensure we’re committing ourselves towards a more sustainable future – for our environment, for the local community, and for our guests.” The resort will come alive every Friday from 4:00 to 5:30 pm with the “Meet Our Resident Queen Bee” event, where guests can join the expert apiarist for a demonstration and learn more about this fascinating initiative.
Starting on July 8.
