John Hunter’s extensive collection of specimens ranging from entire human skeletons through to the brain of a famed mathematician and everything in between is available to peruse. The museum is made up of 3500 specimens from Hunter’s personal collection which were donated after his death.



Hunter was a famed surgeon, naturalist and obstetrician who revolutionised medicine while also amassing his vast collection. The museum is free to enter and open Tuesday - Saturday from 10 am - 5 pm. It’s recommended to book a slot online to avoid disappointment.
