EUROPE'S top ten airlines for 2024 have been revealed - with two UK companies making the list. Skytrax World Airline awards revealed who has soared to new heights over the past year and who has fallen short as it examined the globe's flight services. The companies were selected through a vote using a global passenger satisfaction survey.
They were judged on categories including boarding assistance, service friendliness staff language skills, meal service efficiency and many more. Beloved British Airways gained a respectable fourth place while business tycoon Richard Branson 's Virgin Atlantic came in 6th position. Taking the top spot for for best airline was Turkish Airlines who pipped Air France to the post.
Receiving the awards at the ceremony, Bilal Ekşi, CEO of Turkish Airlines said: “We are delighted to receive these prestigious awards from Skytrax. "Being named the Best Airline in Europe and in Southern Europe, and receiving recognition for our business class catering excellence is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team. "As the Turkish Airlines family, we would like to thank our valued passengers, who deemed us worthy of these wonderful awards, and the Skytrax team, who put this evaluation into practice.
" He added that with "Turkish hospitality in (their) DNA" the company intends to continue to deliver an "unmatched travel experience" and enhance their services. The best airlines across other parts of the globe were also revealed with Hainan.
