Friday, June 28, 2024 Etihad Airways has unveiled plans to significantly expand its fleet by 2030. However, the airline faces a challenge in that it currently lacks the required number of pilots to operate the new aircraft, which it aims to source from Airbus and Boeing. In response, Etihad is initiating a worldwide campaign to hire numerous pilots, starting with a series of recruitment events in eight European cities in the upcoming months.

The campaign, which was announced yesterday, involves global roadshows designed to attract pilots and their families to Abu Dhabi. The initial phase will see events hosted in European locations including Cyprus, Bulgaria, Albania, Romania, Hungary, Poland, and Lithuania. Beyond merely hiring, Etihad is focusing on educating prospective candidates about the airline and the prospects it offers.

The airline encourages pilots who may not currently meet Etihad’s requirements but are interested in future opportunities to participate in the roadshows or to register their interest online..
