Wednesday, June 12, 2024 Buddha Air, a private airline in Nepal, is looking to launch flights from Kathmandu to Pakyong. This initiative aims to streamline travel between Nepal and Sikkim, providing tourists and businesses with easier access to these regions. Their visit was crucial in assessing the feasibility of the new flight route. Regulatory Approvals and Future Prospects Seeking DGCA Approval Buddha Air is in the process of securing approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to commence operations at Pakyong Airport.



The airline is highly motivated to inaugurate this new route, which promises to enhance regional connectivity. Flight Details and Convenience Proposed Flight Schedule and Routes If approved, Buddha Air plans to offer two daily flights on this new route: Direct Flight: Kathmandu to Pakyong, approximately 1 hour. One-Stop Flight: Kathmandu to Pakyong via Guwahati, with a 35-minute leg from Pakyong to Guwahati.

Estimated Fares The initial fare estimates for the Kathmandu to Pakyong route range from Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 7,000.
