Tuesday, June 11, 2024 Starting from the end of October, easyJet, Europe’s second-largest budget airline, will introduce several new routes at both Oslo Airport and Tromsø Airport. This major move into Norway signifies a substantial expansion in easyJet’s route network. We are very pleased to welcome easyJet to Norway.

Their establishment in Tromsø and Oslo will provide both Norwegian and international travelers with more options and strengthen the connection between Norway and important European destinations, says Joachim Lupnaav Johnsen , Executive Vice President of Commercial Management and Development at Avinor. Tromsø’s Emergence as a Premier Winter Travel Spot Over recent years, Tromsø has become increasingly popular as a winter travel destination. From October 2022 to April 2023, Northern Norway welcomed 320,000 international winter visitors, with projections reaching 350,000 for the current season.



This surge in popularity is attributed to more direct flight options and enhanced tourism services such as northern lights excursions, whale watching safaris, and reindeer sledding. To accommodate this growing interest, seven new flight routes to Tromsø are being introduced, each offering two weekly flights. These routes will serve both existing and new markets, significantly boosting Tromsø’s capacity to host international tourists.
