Tromsø’s Emergence as a Premier Winter Travel Spot Over recent years, Tromsø has become increasingly popular as a winter travel destination. From October 2022 to April 2023, Northern Norway welcomed 320,000 international winter visitors, with projections reaching 350,000 for the current season.
This surge in popularity is attributed to more direct flight options and enhanced tourism services such as northern lights excursions, whale watching safaris, and reindeer sledding. To accommodate this growing interest, seven new flight routes to Tromsø are being introduced, each offering two weekly flights. These routes will serve both existing and new markets, significantly boosting Tromsø’s capacity to host international tourists.
