DUBLIN Airport have revealed what day is set to be the busiest over the bank holiday weekend. The airport have also issued advice to those who are travelling over the weekend and are looking to "speed up" their journey. The advice comes as airport officials say around 450,000 passengers will pass through the airport this weekend.

Around 240,000 passengers will fly out of Dublin Airport between Friday May 31 and Monday June 3. Some 210,000 travellers will arrive in to the airport during the same few days. Sunday June 2 looks set to be the busiest day of the weekend in the airport as 117,000 are expected to pass through the airport.



Ahead of the busy period passengers are advised to make sure they leave enough time to check in and drop bags despite large crowds. The airport advise arriving at your terminal two hours in advance of a short-haul flight. Long-haul flight passengers should allow a little more time arriving three hours before.

Sarah Ryan, Director of Communications at daa assured that staff at Dublin Airport are ready for the swarm. She said: "It's going to be another busy weekend at Dublin Airport and the team are ready to welcome the many thousands of passengers set to arrive and depart this weekend. "The peak tourism season is now upon us and our doors are set to welcome tens of thousands of tourists to Ireland from all over the world this weekend.

Sarah also had some advice for passengers on how to make it through security quicker and "speed up" their journey thr.
