A drunken plane passenger screamed and swore at terrified crew and fellow travellers on a flight from Spain. April Wilson caused fear and distress to passengers during a flight from Spain to Newcastle by shouting and swearing at 35,000 feet. The court heard how the 58-year-old was upset when she boarded the Jet2 flight in Alicante and despite repeated attempts to calm her down, Wilson continued shouting and swearing, including at two female members of cabin crew.

Wilson, of Front Street, Houghton-le-Spring, boarded the flight, along with 187 fellow passengers and the cabin crew, which left Spain for Newcastle Airport at 11.25am on November 19, 2023. The cabin crew noticed she looked upset and asked if she was okay - the court heard how Wilson's anger was towards someone who appeared to be her partner, reports A number of passengers complained about her behaviour during the flight, saying she was drunk and kept swearing.



One member of staff heard her repeatedly saying "f***" and asked her to stop, but failed to do so. Wilson, who was slurring her words as the female member of cabin crew walked away, said: "f*** her," and when told again to stop swearing, replied: "What the f*** are you going to do you silly little cow". Wilson was approached by the flight manager who tried to try to calm her down.

The 58-year-old referred to someone, who appeared to be her partner, who she said was taunting her. She appeared upset and said: "You don't f****** understand, I need a hug" and trie.
