Sunday, June 16, 2024 May’s domestic air travel in India saw a 4.4% increase in passenger traffic compared to last year, with over 13.7 million passengers flying domestically, up from 13.

2 million in the same month last year, according to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The data also highlighted that Akasa Air led in punctuality with an On-Time Performance (OTP) of 85.9%, outperforming Vistara and other domestic carriers.



Furthermore, the DGCA report revealed shifts in market shares among airlines. IndiGo expanded its dominance to 61.6%, while Air India’s share slightly dropped to 13.

7%. Vistara maintained a stable market presence with 9.2%, though AIX Connect saw a slight decrease to 5.
