Disney Cruise Line is heading to Japan with the launch of a brand new ship by early 2029. Oriental Land Co, which operates Tokyo Disneyland, has signed a billion dollar licensing agreement with Disney Enterprises to build the new ship that will offer year-round sailings, it was announced this week. A sister ship to the popular Disney Wish, the new vessel is being constructed at Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany, and will become the ninth ship in Disney's fleet.

There will be roughly 1250 rooms on board the 4000-passenger ship, with cabins costing between $890 and $2670 per person. It is expected to be approximately 140,000 gross tons and powered by liquefied natural gas.
