Tuesday, July 2, 2024 Dieter Vranckx is set to take over as the new chairperson of the board at SN Airholding, the parent company of Brussels Airlines. Vranckx will replace Christina Foerster following her departure from the Lufthansa Group. Having formerly served as CEO of Brussels Airlines, Vranckx brings a wealth of experience in the aviation industry.
Born in 1973 in Belgium, Vranckx earned a commercial engineering degree and an MBA from Solvay Business School in Brussels. His aviation career began in 1998 at Sabena as a Management Trainee. He subsequently held various positions at Swiss and Lufthansa before joining Brussels Airlines in 2018 as the Chief Financial Officer, and later ascending to Chief Executive Officer.
In 2021, he took on the role of CEO at Swiss, another airline within the Lufthansa Group. Recently, the Lufthansa Group announced Vranckx’s upcoming inclusion in the Executive Board of the Lufthansa Group, where, starting July 1, he will oversee Global Markets and Commercial Steering Hubs. Alongside this role, he will also assume the chairmanship of Brussels Airlines.
