DENVER — An outdoor plaza has opened for summer at Denver's airport. The 82,000-square-foot Park on the Plaza will be open at Denver International Airport (DIA) through Sept. 30.
Located between the Jeppesen Terminal and the Westin Hotel, the open-air plaza is placed before TSA security. Travelers can play cornhole, relax on lounge seating and grass-like turf or kick up their feet and enjoy a variety of events. DIA said its first event is scheduled for Friday from 11:30 a.
m. to 1:30 p.m.
and will honor National Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month with performances by Japanese Taiko drummers and Polynesian dancers. There will also be a dragon parade with traditional Chinese and Vietnamese drummers in spirit of the Lunar New Year of the Dragon. The plaza also has mini-golf.
The public and traveling passengers can play a free round of nine holes from June 1 through June 30 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.
