Last week, a tragic collision involving an Amtrak train and a pickup truck resulted in the deaths of three individuals. The incident, which took place in North Tonawanda, New York, led to the fatalities of a six-year-old boy, a 66-year-old woman, and a 69-year-old man.

The collision occurred on Friday evening, and all three victims were pronounced dead at the scene. The victims, traveling in a Dodge pickup, were struck by a northbound Amtrak train. Details regarding the identities of those deceased were not available as of Monday afternoon.



Emergency services responded promptly to the accident, with first responders striving to save the lives of those inside the truck. There were no reports of injuries among the train’s crew or the passengers aboard. The train, numbered 281, was en route from New York City to Niagara Falls when the accident happened.

Before the collision, the truck had entered Felton Street from River Road. Officials clarified that a traffic stop had occurred on Felton Street, but not on the train tracks, countering some online speculation. Local and state authorities in North Tonawanda are actively investigating the crash, discussing the incident, and exploring measures to prevent similar tragedies.
