He explained: "I brought up to an entire room of people having lunch that our ship is only 100 feet longer than the Titanic and when when I tell you that utensils dropped, waiters gasped - it's dead silent." Only then did a fellow passenger lean over and quietly inform him that "you're not allowed to talk about the Titanic".
