Thursday, May 23, 2024 As Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) gears up for the busy summer travel season, here’s what travelers need to know for the ‘100 days of summer.’ CLE is expecting this summer to be one of the busiest travel periods since the pandemic. So far this year, passenger traffic has reached 103 percent of 2019 levels and 108 percent of 2023 levels.

During the “100 days of summer,” which runs from Memorial Day week through Labor Day, CLE anticipates welcoming more than 3.3 million travelers, an increase of 200,000 compared to the same period last year. To handle the increased passenger volume, TSA will open the North and Central Checkpoints at 3:30 a.



m. and the South Checkpoint at 3 a.m.

The airport emphasizes the importance of arriving early, especially during peak hours: 4-6 a.m., 11 a.

, and 5-7 p.m. Travel Tips Airport officials recommend arriving at least 2 hours before domestic flights and 3 hours before international flights to account for inclement weather, traffic, parking, check-in, and security checkpoints.
