Monday, June 17, 2024 Recently, a delegation from Hainan Province, China, embarked on a journey of economic, trade, and cultural exchange to South Korea and the United States. Their mission aimed to bolster ties and showcase the achievements of Hainan’s Free Trade Port (FTP), fostering partnerships across various sectors. In South Korea, the delegation participated in the 19th Jeju Forum and the 9th Trilateral Summit Meeting, where they inked agreements covering cultural tourism, healthcare, green development, high-end consumption, technology, and finance.

Highlighting these efforts was a “Memorandum of Understanding on Jointly Promoting Workation Projects” with Jeju, paving the way for enhanced tourism collaboration and joint marketing initiatives, coinciding with the upcoming 30th anniversary of the sister province relationship between Hainan and Jeju. Meanwhile, in the United States, the delegation engaged in the California-Hainan High-Level Climate Dialogue and signed agreements such as the Philadelphia Orchestra’s cultural exchange tour. They also advanced partnerships in sister city exchanges, direct flights, climate resilience, clean energy, agriculture technology, education, and medical tourism.
