Saturday, June 15, 2024 Recently, a delegation from China’s southern Hainan Province embarked on a series of economic, trade, and cultural exchanges in South Korea and the United States. They highlighted Hainan’s initiatives through the Free Trade Port (FTP), showcasing advancements in economic development. This effort strengthened ties in economic, trade, tourism, and cultural sectors, culminating in agreements spanning cultural tourism, healthcare services, green technology, high-end consumption, new technologies, and financial investments.

At the 19th Jeju Forum and the 9th Trilateral Summit Meeting involving China, Japan, and South Korea, representatives from Hainan’s Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television, and Sports signed a “Memorandum of Understanding on Joint Workation Projects” with Jeju’s Tourism Exchange Bureau. This agreement aims to deepen tourism cooperation, enhance standards, share customer bases, jointly market tourism products, and celebrate the upcoming 30th anniversary of Hainan and Jeju’s sister province relationship with a series of activities next year. In the United States, the delegation participated in the California-Hainan High-Level Climate Dialogue, the signing of the Philadelphia Orchestra’s 2024 China Cultural Exchange Tour, and other engagements.



They also engaged in discussions with various stakeholders to advance sister city partnerships, direct flights, climate change initiatives, clean energy projects, agricultur.
