Tuesday, June 4, 2024 China Eastern Airlines achieves a significant milestone as it receives the first aircraft from its additional order of 100 C919 jets, marked by the delivery of flight number B-919G. This milestone comes as the Chinese-developed C919 jetliner commemorates its one year of commercial operations. With the addition of this new aircraft, China Eastern Airlines’ C919 fleet expands to six planes, signifying a notable acceleration in large-scale commercial operations.

Since operating the maiden flight of the C919 on May 28, 2023, China Eastern Airlines has successfully run multiple routes with five C919 jets. The delivery of the new C919 jet marks another breakthrough for the airline. Highlighting the airline’s commitment to expanding its C919 fleet, China Eastern Airlines is set to launch a charter flight from Hong Kong to Shanghai using a C919 jet on June 1 this year.



This flight is specially arranged to transport Hong Kong university students participating in an exchange program to Shanghai. As the delivery of the 100-aircraft order commences, China Eastern Airlines’ C919 fleet is expected to continue expanding. By the end of 2024, the fleet is projected to reach 10 aircraft, with additional routes being added to its network.
