THE cheapest week to travel during the school summer holidays has been revealed. Brits looking to save money on their holidays should consider waiting until the end of the summer. Doing that could save them hundreds of pounds, compared with a trip in the first two weeks of the school holidays.

That's according to new data produced by search aggregator and travel agency Skyscanner. They explained which weeks were the cheapest to go on holiday. Their data showed the week of 19th August is, on average, the cheapest week of the summer holidays to fly.



UK travellers can save 17 per cent by travelling on that week versus 22nd of July. That's an average saving of up to £268 for a family of four. Dublin was cheapest to travel week commencing 5th August at £65, while the last week of August was best for Copenhagen at £87.

Week commencing 12th August was the lowest for party island Ibiza at £138. Fewer people is one of the main reasons people should travel out of peak holiday season, according to Positive News . They said: "Travelling outside of the peak season means fewer travellers.
