Wednesday, June 19, 2024 The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism (MCST) and KPIPA collaborated to host a K-Book exhibition and author events in France, aimed at showcasing Korean literature and fostering the K-Book Wave during the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics celebrations. Commencing on June 5th (Wednesday), the exhibition, titled , highlights 59 Korean picture books, 38 Korean literary works translated into French, and 13 original Korean web novels that have inspired popular webtoons and dramas, totaling 110 diverse Korean books. Located on the third floor of the Korean Cultural Center in France, the exhibition will run until August 30th (Friday), engaging French and global audiences alike.

From June 11th (Tuesday) to June 13th (Thursday), a series of picture book author workshops took place across Paris at venues including La maison des histoires, Bibliothèque Louise Michel, and Gerson, as well as various bookstores and schools. Renowned authors such as Oh Se-na, Lee So-young, Kim Sang-keun, and Jung Jin-ho engaged nearly 500 local children in creative drawing and crafting activities. The events garnered enthusiastic responses from the Parisian community.



One attendee, who joined with her 7-year-old child, remarked “It was great to meet various Korean picture book authors in France,”and the representative from Bibliotheque Louise Michel stated, “This Korean picture book author workshop was a meaningful event that French children could fully enjoy.” On June 14th.
