Monday, June 17, 2024 Anantara Angkor Resort, a tranquil retreat near the mystical temples of Angkor Wat, has unveiled a captivating culinary experience: the Angkorian Dining Theatre. This exclusive event, part of the resort’s signature Designer Dining collection, artfully combines culture, cuisine, and storytelling to create an unforgettable evening for those wishing to immerse themselves in Cambodia’s rich heritage. As the sun sets, guests gather in the serene Frangipani Courtyard to embark on a five-course culinary journey, beginning with a Bakotor performance—a mesmerizing martial arts show inspired by ancient Khmer warriors.

As twilight deepens, the highlight of the evening unfolds with a shadow puppet show in three acts, showcasing intricately crafted puppets made from painted cowhide and wood, honoring centuries-old traditions. Amid the dancing shadows, guests are treated to exquisite flavors, exploring local delicacies such as Kep crab cakes, Mekong langoustine soup, lamb shank Saraman curry, and a decadent baked Alaska layered with local mango. Each course is thoughtfully paired with meticulously selected wines, enhancing the overall dining experience.
