Thursday, July 4, 2024 American golfer John Catlin admits that securing a spot on the LIV Golf League is now a major motivator as he aims for victory at the International Series Morocco this week. Catlin recently won a thrilling sudden-death playoff against David Puig at the International Series Macau presented by Wynn in March, followed by a triumph at the Saudi Open presented by PIF, propelling him to the top of the Asian Tour Order of Merit and second in The International Series Rankings. The top spot in these rankings guarantees a place in the LIV Golf League.
His outstanding form earned him an invite as an alternate on the LIV Golf League, where he impressed with a T24 finish in Houston and a T7 in Nashville. Catlin is set to play next week in Andalucia, continuing to fill in for the injured Charles Howell III on the Crushers GC team. With a taste of the LIV Golf League, the six-time Asian Tour champion is determined to secure a permanent spot through the rankings, starting this week in Morocco, where crucial points are up for grabs.
He said: “It (The international Series) is definitely priority one for me now. Having experienced the LIV Golf events, they are really cool. We are very well looked after and playing that calibre of field for that kind of money is something we all want.
