A busy road linking Cardiff and Caerphilly was closed for more than 12 hours after a crash. The A469 was shut overnight in both directions between the Canol y Dref turn off and Cefn Carnau Lane, according to traffic monitoring service Inrix. The collision happened on Monday afternoon (June 10) and the road remained closed until Tuesday morning while accident investigation work took place, according to Inrix.

In a statement on social media at around 4.20pm on Monday, Gwent Police said: "Emergency services are dealing with a road traffic collision on the A469 between Mountain Shack Junction and Cefn Carnau Lane. The road is currently closed and diversions are in place which may cause congestion.
