Sunday, June 23, 2024 Briarwood Country Club in Sun City West, Arizona, has been honored in AZCentral’s 2024 Best of the Desert – West Valley community choice awards, winning titles for “Best Golf Course,” “Best Driving Range,” and “Best Golf Shop.” AZCentral’s annual Best of the Desert Awards celebrate the finest offerings in the community. Nominations were gathered in the first quarter of 2024, with only the top businesses advancing to the final voting stage.
Readers of AZCentral cast their votes in April, and the results were recently published on AZCentral.com, the digital platform of The Arizona Republic, the state’s largest newspaper. “We are so proud to be recognized as the best golf course, driving range and golf shop in the West Valley and honored to represent our membership family and all the supportive residents of Sun City West,” said Briarwood Country Club General Manager Phil Stika.
Briarwood Country Club boasts an 18-hole golf course designed by Greg Nash, which has been in play since 1983. The member-owned club also features a golf shop, a full-service restaurant and bar, an outdoor heated pool, and locker rooms. Members enjoy a comprehensive calendar of golf and social programs.
The club is managed by Scottsdale-based Troon, a leader in providing golf and club-related leisure and hospitality services. Troon supports Briarwood with golf operations, course maintenance, membership sales and marketing, and enhancing social and dining exper.
