Thursday, June 20, 2024 Ed Foster, the executive director of Lancaster Airport, has already secured his spot as a regular passenger on the first-ever nonstop flight from Lancaster to Orlando, operated by Breeze Airways. This significant milestone, set for October, marks a new chapter in local air travel, promising to deliver both convenience and cost-efficiency to the residents of Lancaster and its surrounding areas. Breeze Airways, a low-cost airline based in Utah, is known for its commitment to serving underserved routes.

Lancaster Airport’s decision to introduce direct flights to Orlando was driven by the public’s demand for more accessible and efficient travel options. While the new route adds to the workload of Lancaster Airport’s already lean staff, it aligns perfectly with the community’s needs. Unlike the pre-pandemic era, where the majority of air travel was for business purposes, the current surge is predominantly in leisure travel.
