Thursday, June 13, 2024 Blossom Hotel & Suites has been awarded the Certified Autism CenterTM (CAC) designation. This achievement reflects the hotel’s commitment to creating a welcoming environment for all guests, especially those with autism and sensory sensitivities. To earn the CAC designation, Blossom Hotel & Suites staff underwent comprehensive training provided by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES).
This training equipped them with the knowledge and skills to better serve autistic and sensory-sensitive individuals and their families. “We are honored to receive this designation,” says Nick Trahair, General Manager of Blossom Hotel & Suites. “It represents our dedication to inclusivity and accessibility for all our guests.
” This achievement aligns with Traverse City Tourism’s initiative to become a Certified Autism DestinationTM (CAD). A CAD community offers a variety of trained and certified lodging, recreation, and entertainment options that cater to the needs of autistic and sensory-sensitive individuals. “Blossom Hotel & Suites’ certification is a significant step towards Traverse City’s CAD goal,” said Myron Pincomb, IBCCES board chairman.
“Their commitment to inclusivity is creating a more welcoming community for all visitors.”.
