THE beloved US holiday of barbecues and fireworks is just around the corner. Some American cities celebrate the Fourth of July better than others. The experts at WalletHub , a personal finance company, have compiled a list of the top cities to marvel at fireworks while spending time with friends and family .
They compared the 100 largest cities in the US, narrowing it down to 20. A few Midwestern cities made the top 10 cut for best spots for Fourth of July fun. Wallethub took into account prices of adult beverages, how long the fireworks last, and weather forecast.
The usual contenders, Los Angeles and New York City, made the top of the list. The three Midwestern cities for a memorable Fourth of July include Minneapolis, Minnesota, St. Paul, Minnesota, and St.
Louis, Montana. Wallethub analyst Cassandra Happe gave her two cents on July 4th destinations. “The 4th of July is one of the most beloved holidays in America," she said.
