Sunday, June 9, 2024 Exciting news for domestic travelers: Passengers flying with Tata Group Airlines from Terminal 2 of Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL) can now start the self-bag drop process by simply scanning their faces using DigiYatra. Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL), along with Bajpe International Airport, Hubballi Airport, Belagavi Airport, Kalaburagi Airport, Jindal Vijayanagara Airport, Mysuru Airport, and Bidar Airport, has introduced India’s first biometric-enabled self-bag drop facility. Previously, passengers using the self-bag drop service had to print a boarding pass at self-check-in kiosks and then scan it to start the bag drop process.
Now, with the implementation of DigiYatra’s face-scan biometric technology, domestic travelers can navigate these airports without needing a physical boarding pass or ID. In addition to simplifying the bag drop process, the new technology significantly reduces wait times, enhancing the overall travel experience. This innovative system is part of a broader initiative to incorporate advanced digital solutions across all these airports, aiming to provide a seamless and efficient journey for passengers.
