German tourists have been accused of being even worse than Brits when it comes to getting rowdy and misbehaving in In recent weeks protests against anti-tourism have taken over parts of the island - from to and anti-tourist slogans being painted across town. Those who are against the tourism industry in its current state are furious about the high number of people being let in, versus the low-quality investment they bring to the island and the strain they put on the housing market. It’s usually Brits who bear the brunt of the blame for this low quality tourism - but locals are saying German’s can be just as bad.

Last month Majorcan police were forced to use rubber bullets in Playa de Palma after a mob of German tourists linked to the alt right tried to begin a riot. reports the group of around 50 German “ultras” had attacked a doorman and then gotten into a fight with other security staff. The ultras are fans of Alemannia Aachen - a German football club which reached the third tier in Germany that weekend.



Fans of the club are reported to be aligned with the alt right. Tourists were forced to flee for safety in the wake of the riot. An Aachen fan told they were beaten by security staff and police.

"The bouncers were very aggressive. Things escalated around 5 or 6 p.m.

We felt like cattle," an Aachen supporter said of the incident. "We were beaten with batons by the bouncers and the police. I was really scared.
