Before moving here last year I had visited the city many times as a tourist , and since relocating I've shown many loved ones my new home. You get to see the entire city and it's free! Arenas de Barcelona , also known as Las Arenas , is located in one of the central hubs of the city - Plaça d'Espanya . Originally built in 1900 and used as a bullfighting ring until 1977, the building was converted into a shopping centre and reopened in 2011 with most of the original façade intact. If you go inside the centre and take the escalator all the way up, you'll find yourself with a 360-degree view of this incredible city. Don't be fooled by the external lift (although it will only cost you €1) - the internal route is free. Once at the top, take in the panoramic views or enjoy a drink, but my advice would be to skip the restaurants at the top if you're looking for an authentic dining experience.
