Thursday, June 13, 2024 The Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) took part in the “Ahlan Arabia” roadshow, organized by Dnata agency, spanning from June 11 to June 14 across the Gulf region. The series of events unfolded in Kuwait on June 11th, Doha on June 12th, and Dubai on June 13th and 14th. Throughout these engagements, approximately 70 meetings were held, catering to both business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) interactions.
These sessions, geared towards fostering and broadening bilateral ties, furnished local tourism entities with insights into Azerbaijan’s diverse tourism landscape. This included highlights of attractions in Baku and other regions, along with offerings tailored for both summer and winter seasons. A notable turnout of roadshow participants showed keen interest in Azerbaijan’s tourism portfolio, particularly its wellness resorts, glamping opportunities, hiking trails, and rich culinary experiences.
They were provided with detailed information about these attractions. In recent times, Azerbaijan has emerged as a favored destination for travelers from Gulf countries, partly owing to its convenient direct flight routes, streamlined visa procedures upon arrival, and reputation as a vibrant cultural and commercial hub. Of significance is the fact that between January and May 2024, Azerbaijan welcomed 64,138 tourists from Gulf countries, reflecting a remarkable surge of over 44% compared to the previous year.
