Saturday, June 15, 2024 During the CANSO Global ATM Summit 2024 and 28th AGM, a significant environmental initiative was launched with the release of 5,000 sturgeons into the Caspian Basin. This conservation effort, held in Neftchala, is aimed at revitalizing the endangered sturgeon population in the region. The ceremony saw participation from representatives of AZAL, AZANS, and CANSO, as well as family members of summit attendees.

This collaboration underscores a shared commitment to the health of the Caspian Sea ecosystem and the promotion of biodiversity. Sturgeons are vital to the Caspian Sea’s environment, serving as both a natural inhabitant and the source of the highly prized caviar. The summit, held in Baku from June 11 to 13, brought together approximately 300 civil aviation leaders from over 80 countries.



It focused on environmental sustainability in air traffic management, aiming to foster dialogue, share expertise, and influence critical decision-making in the industry..
