Thursday, May 23, 2024 In 2024, Austrian Airlines is set to celebrate a significant expansion by introducing the Boeing 787 into their fleet. This upgrade will enhance their summer and winter schedules by adding two more long-haul aircraft. This year, passengers traveling long distances with Austrian Airlines will enjoy the newly added Boston route started this summer, alongside more frequent flights to beloved destinations.

Additionally, Austrian Airlines is introducing a new winter getaway to Ivalo in Finnish Lapland, a haven for winter sports lovers. This destination complements the airline’s existing Finnish routes to Kittilä and Rovaniemi, reintroduced from last winter’s schedule. This winter, travelers can fly with Austrian Airlines to the charming village of Ivalo, a prime location for cross-country skiing with hundreds of kilometers of pristine trails in the Inari holiday region.

The area also offers ski hiking, sledging, and Northern Lights snowmobile safaris. During their visit, travelers can spot reindeer and experience the spectacular Northern Lights. Flights to Ivalo are scheduled every Saturday from January through March.

The airline will also continue serving Boston, Bremen, and Tbilisi, which were part of the summer lineup. For those looking to flee the cold, Austrian Airlines is ramping up the frequency of its long-haul flights. The addition of two Boeing 787-9s will boost services to Bangkok from seven to as many as 13 flights weekly.
