If you’re flying abroad this Sunday, or catching a domestic trip this Friday, Auckland Airport has a piece of advice: expect things to be busy. Sunday, July 7 is set to be the busiest day for international departures at the airport during the school holiday break, while Friday, July 5, is the busiest for domestic departures. Days ahead of the school holidays, Auckland Airport has released the ‘peak’ days they expect to see the largest numbers of travellers and key advice for those travelling on these days.
During these peak days, the airport will see around 55,000 people arrive and depart according to Auckland Airport chief operations officer, Chloe Surridge. For context, that is a little more than a fully-seated Eden Park stadium..
