Wednesday, June 19, 2024 Alaska Airlines proudly revealed its advanced new facilities at San Francisco International Airport’s Harvey Milk Terminal 1, a culmination of a two-year project moving from Terminal 2. This transition represents a substantial multimillion-dollar commitment, highlighting our dedication to enhancing the passenger experience for global travelers as the primary operator at Harvey Milk Terminal 1. The latest development includes our second-largest and most modern Lounge, set to open next month.
This new addition reflects our continued commitment to passenger comfort and service excellence, signaling the completion of our shift to Harvey Milk Terminal 1. The strategic move positions us nearer to our oneworld Alliance colleagues, boosting our global network connectivity and facilitating smoother journeys for our passengers, whether they are traveling domestically or internationally. Together with our partners, Alaska offers more than 130 weekly flights from SFO to 18 international locations.
We are also introducing state-of-the-art technologies to improve service efficiency and minimize waiting times. Starting today, Alaska is the inaugural carrier at SFO to deploy automated bag drop systems for checked luggage. Guests arriving at our expansive lobby will find it easier than ever to scan their boarding passes, print bag tags at dedicated stations, and use the automated bag drop machines that efficiently manage luggage check-ins.
