Thursday, June 6, 2024 In response to a surge in travel demand, Alaska Airlines is rolling out its most extensive summer schedule ever, introducing new nonstop routes and international destinations previously uncharted during our peak season. We are increasing our daily flight offerings across the network, unveiling innovative bag drop stations at key hubs, and maintaining our commitment to industry-leading safety. This summer, we’re adding nearly a million seats compared to last year, enabling more guests to enjoy seasonal activities like barbeques, baseball games, and beach visits.
The period around Independence Day is expected to be particularly busy, with daily boardings projected to reach nearly 160,000. “As best-in-class operators, our top priority is consistently delivering on our promise to guests to take them where they’re going safely and on time – all while showing them the care for which we’re known,” said Andrew Harrison, chief commercial officer at Alaska Airlines. “This summer, we’re prepared to do more flying and welcome more guests to experience not only a safe operation, but also a premium experience.
We’ve been hard at work on elevating all aspects of the travel journey for our guests from start to finish.” This Memorial Day weekend marked a significant uptick in travel, with over 500,000 guests flying with us, a 6% increase from the previous year. We’re seeing notable growth in our hub cities and a surge in interest for new destinatio.
