Monday, June 3, 2024 airBaltic , Latvia’s premier airline, is excited to showcase its robust flight network originating from Spain, a crucial market for the airline, covering eight key Spanish locations. Recently, airBaltic introduced a new seasonal hub at Gran Canaria, launching direct services to ten cities across Scandinavia, Finland, and the Baltic region by the close of 2023. The airline operates from eight Spanish points including Alicante, Barcelona, Gran Canaria, Madrid, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, Tenerife, and Valencia.
This network facilitates a wealth of travel opportunities for Spanish patrons aiming to explore the Baltic area and nearby regions. Martin Gauss , President and CEO of airBaltic : “Back in 2005, Barcelona was the first airBaltic destination in Spain. Since then, demand for this destination has significantly increased, and it has become one of the airline’s most popular routes over the years.
After seeing the demand among our customers for flights to and from Spain, we have continued to expand our network there, now performing direct flights from eight destinations in Spain and even operating a seasonal base in Gran Canaria.” This year marks a decade of airBaltic’s service connecting Palma de Mallorca with Riga, airBaltic’s headquarters. Throughout the summer, the airline maintains up to two flights per week on this route.
Moreover, airBaltic provides direct connections from the Balearic Islands to Vilnius (Lithuania) and Tampere (Finland),.
