Thursday, June 6, 2024 AirAsia expands its regional connectivity from Kota Kinabalu with a new direct service to Manado, Indonesia, marking the second connection to Indonesia from Sabah after Jakarta. This service will commence on September 1, 2024, operating three times a week. Starting in September 2024, AirAsia will operate 13 international routes from Kota Kinabalu, totaling 83 weekly flights.

To celebrate the launch of this new route, AirAsia is offering promotional fares starting from RM139 all-in one-way from Kota Kinabalu to Manado, and IDR 468,020 all-in one-way from Manado to Kota Kinabalu. Bookings are available through the AirAsia MOVE (formerly known as airasia Superapp) and airasia.com, from now until June 16, 2024, for travel from September 1, 2024, to March 28, 2025.



Manado, the capital of North Sulawesi, boasts a spectacular underwater world and impressive mountain scenery. Visitors can explore the famous Bunaken Marine Park, renowned for its colorful coral reefs and diverse marine life, or hike Mount Klabat for breathtaking views.
