Tuesday, June 25, 2024 AirAsia has been awarded the title of World’s Best Low-Cost Airline at the 2024 Skytrax World Airline Awards, marking an unprecedented 15 consecutive years of victory. This milestone underscores AirAsia’s dedication to innovation and value creation within the low-cost airline sector. Founded in 2001 by Tony Fernandes and Kamarudin Meranun, AirAsia started with the acquisition of a struggling airline equipped with just two aircraft and 200 employees.

Today, it stands as Asia’s fourth largest airline, operating a fleet exceeding 200 aircraft and employing over 21,000 staff across Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Cambodia, and beyond. Committed to revolutionizing air travel in ASEAN by emphasizing affordability, inclusivity, and accessibility, AirAsia has emerged as a pivotal player in regional connectivity and the promotion of tourism. The recent launch of AirAsia Cambodia, its fifth airline, further exemplifies its remarkable growth and resilience.

In accepting the award at a ceremony in London on Monday, Capital A CEO Tony Fernandes said : “Skytrax champions global standards for airline quality and excellence, and we are thrilled to have risen to this benchmark for the 15th consecutive year. No other companies come to my mind in having achieved such a winning streak, and we are very proud of it. Our guests mean the world to us, and we are reinvigorated by the confidence they have shown by voting for us again.

We look forward to co.
