By leveraging real-time baggage tracking information from network airports and utilizing a scalable cloud applications infrastructure, this new capability ensures passengers can monitor their baggage throughout their journey, significantly reducing concerns about checked-in bags. Air India joins an elite group of airlines worldwide offering this convenience directly to guests without needing intervention from airline staff.
Developed by Air India’s digital technology and design teams in collaboration with the airline’s airport operations department, the feature simplifies end-to-end baggage tracking with minimal data entry. Passengers can track their checked-in bags by scanning the barcode on their baggage receipts. Alternatively, if the trip is added to the app, the tracking information will automatically appear in the ‘My Trips’ section shortly after check-in.
This feature is also accessible on the Air India website under the ‘Track Your Bags’ tab in the Book & Manage section.
