Friday, June 14, 2024 Air Arabia , the leading low-cost carrier in the Middle East and North Africa, has resumed flights to Basra, Iraq from Sharjah International Airport. This new service operates four times weekly, adding Basra as the fourth direct route from Sharjah, alongside Baghdad, Najaf, and Erbil. The inaugural flight was welcomed at Basra International Airport with a traditional water cannon salute and a ceremonial ribbon cutting, attended by officials from both Air Arabia and the airport.

Schedule for Basra flights, effective June 07, 2024 (all times local): “Air Arabia’s new flights to Basra mark a significant milestone in our commitment to providing affordable travel options within the region,” said Adel Al Ali , Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia. “The new service offer our customers the opportunity to connect directly between both cities and benefit from our value-driven product and services while further contributing to strong travel and trade ties between both countries.” Travelers looking to fly between Sharjah and Basra can book their tickets through Air Arabia’s website, its call center, or local travel agencies.



The airline boasts a modern fleet of 72 Airbus A320 and A321 planes, known for their efficiency and comfort. Passengers can enjoy a range of amenities such as ‘SkyTime’, a complimentary in-flight streaming service, and ‘SkyCafe’, an economical onboard catering option. Additionally, Air Arabia offers the ‘Air Rewards�.
