A teenage motorbike rider has died in hospital following a crash during a race last weekend. Amelia Kotze was seriously injured in an accident during the Central Coast Cup on Saturday. She was rushed to a Sydney hospital but died on Tuesday at the age of just 15.

“Her impressive achievements spoke volumes about her dedication to the sport. “Among her many accolades, she proudly secured the Junior Girls State Titles in Victoria last November, triumphed at last year’s NSW Junior Track Championships, and shone brightly at the Australian Dirt Track Championships. “Her exceptional skills and relentless passion for racing earned her the prestigious title of Junior Female Rider of the Year at the Motorcycling NSW Awards last year.
” The crash stopped proceedings as emergency services were called to Allen Park racetrack in Somersby, near Gosford, about 2pm on Saturday. Kotze was airlifted to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a critical condition. She was sent straight to the intensive care unit where she fought for life until being pronounced dead on Tuesday.
