Like any old game with verticality, The First Descendant also has a little thing called fall damage that makes players think twice before hopping off buildings. Unless you’re Superman, falling off tall structures can cause an untimely death for even the tankiest of characters. But even though this damage-dealing feature is even harder to beat than the most difficult boss, there is, at least, a way to avoid it—by shooting your weapon.

That’s according to Reddit user , who discovered that you can jump off structures without taking damage as long as you shoot your weapon before landing. Yes, instead of getting a chunk of your health taken away, you can dish out the pain instead. Some players also pointed out that you can cancel the landing animation by reloading or firing your grappling hook into the air.

Though, of course, shooting your already equipped primary weapon is a much quicker way of doing it. You can also use certain abilities, like Valby’s Laundry skill or Kyle’s Magnetism Spurt, to avoid or reduce fall damage (though this is already a given since abilities are supposed to give you an advantage in-game.) It is worth noting, though, that Nexon likely didn’t intend this to be a feature, so we wouldn’t be surprised if the developers eventually patch it out in a future update.

But for now, you can continue enjoying it since.
