EXPERTS at Wrexham University are holding a menopause workshop in Prestatyn later this month in a bid to educate and empower those navigating menopause. Taking place on Friday, June 21 between 12.30pm – 4pm, the workshop will feature a number of practical sessions on mindfulness, yoga and more.

Sessions running throughout the afternoon, which are being delivered by Wrexham University staff, include: A mindfulness and menopause talk from Vic Graham, Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing and Mindfulness Champion; Menopause: What is it? Dealing with it, Common Symptoms, and Helpful Tips – a talk by Lisa Scully, Menopause Champion; Relax, unwind, and let Karen Tilby guide you through a calming yoga session. The workshop is running at the Nova in Prestatyn and costs £5 per person to attend, which includes refreshments. Buy your tickets here.

Dr Chelsea Batty, Principal Lecturer for Sport, who has organised the event, said: “We are thrilled to be running this session, in partnership with Denbighshire Leisure, which aims to support and empower those experiencing menopause. “Vic, Lisa and Karen are all Menopause Champions at the university and are very much experts, so I have no doubt this will be a useful afternoon for those who come along. “As a university through our Civic Mission, we relish in working with partners within our local community to make a positive difference for the good of North Wales – this is just one example of that, and we hope to deliver more sessions l.
