Over the past few days, turbulence on flights has made worldwide headlines following two separate terrifying incidents involving Singapore Airlines and Qatar Airways. On Monday evening, a Boeing 777 plane from London to Singapore suffered extreme turbulence and plunged 6,000ft in a matter of seconds. Geoffrey Ralph Kitchen , who reportedly had a pre-existing heart issue, was travelling on board the Singapore Airlines flight with his wife when he was killed.
His wife was injured and taken to hospital. Today a Qatar Airways flight from Doha to Dublin also experienced turbulence . The flight was met by an emergency response team on landing in the Irish capital just before 1pm this afternoon.
